Born 1959 in Manchester I trained at Bolton Art College in 1976 moving to Rochdale College of Art in 1977. I then went on to study at Canterbury College of Art (Fine Art Degree) for three years.
I have lived in various places from London, Wales and eight years in southern Brittany in France. More recently I have moved to Somerset and the lovely village of Milverton.
I specialise in portraiture both photographic and painted and sometimes a combination of the two. One of William Albert Allard's thoughts on photography is the good portrait is about the eye, the look, since the human soul is reflected in it the most purely. I hope I capture some of this in my portraits, something personal, more than just an image.
I work in close collaboration on certain projects with Benjamin Dunk (
www.icandycrew.com) and we have a combined site (
www.ivistaphotography.com) which includes a wedding section. The reason for this is we feel that wedding photography in particular needs two photographers to cover all aspects of the special day.
I would like to thank Jane Taylor for being able to use all her music on this website. Please look at her website and go to one of her concerts. One of the best singer songwriters in the UK. (
